I have a Rover 400 series (Honda Engine?) can anyone help?

I took the Rover to the MOT station and left it their for them to give it a test. A couple of hours later they phoned me up saying they could'nt get it started ( good start to the day), i went down and ,again, it would'nt start. I've had the car for 6 months and it has never let me down, even in the cold snap, the RAC were called and he reckoned it was the distributor, would'nt this have shown up on his laptop thingy before he went for petrol (not the problem though). I,ve been told that some of these cars have problem with the immobilser. Can anyone help me on this one, cheers, Stew
