Your child making up his/her own mind. How would you feel?

How would anyone here feel about a child choosing a religion other than theirs? Or even choosing an agnostic/atheist way of life? Would you feel some embarrasment? Would you have trouble discussing this child with someone of your own religion? Would you feel a sense of betrayal? Has anyone here had an experience of escaping a religion that they were born into? I'd be interested to know.
