It's more like Ginsberg was WITH Solomon in the hospital. The poem might be saying that the both were transcendent above where they were and their coma-like psychological conditions in the hospital. He's saying that their souls airplanes of thought roared over the hospital roof dropping spiritual truths that illuminates the facility and the imaginary walls that the hospital staff create collapses. He exclaims "O skinny legions run outside, O starry spangled shock of mercy, the eternal war is here, where he and Soloman are fighting the hospital doctors and nurses.
