Why do we still allow Republicans to brand themselves the most "Patriotic" party.?

To me patriotism is about freedom, and following the Constitution, not a BIBLE. So how can the Republicans plan to take away the right of a women to choose, and continue to ban gay marriages and still come off as the "Patriotic" ones? If anything they are trying to take our freedoms and choices away, not to mention censoring us. Just imagine if Palin ever becomes President, our kids would be learning creationism. What happened to the separation of Church and State?
