How long are the lake trio gone in pokemon Diamond?

First time i went in the caves i just wanted to add the lake trio to my pokedex. I was too scared to fight them (This was ages ago by the way). So i went in, battled with them and ran straight after. They all ran. I visited Azlefs lake today and it was there! how long was it gone?
