I am trying to burn music onto a printable CD-R on windows media player..not working, help?

All day, I have been trying to burn music onto CDs and it's not working. I put the CD-R into my laptop and make a "burn list" on windows media player and click burn, and it tries to burn the songs but it says that an error occured for each song. I thought one CD worked and I tried it out in my car and it said error and it didn't play. PLEASE help :/ Thank you :)
